8-Day Tour of Spain and Portugal

Starting at CAD 1990

Day 1:

  • Arrive in Barcelona in the afternoon and transfer to your hotel.
  • Visit Casa Milà (La Pedrera), a masterpiece of Antoni Gaudí's architecture.
  • Admire the harmonious blend of nature and architecture, inspired by the marine world.
  • Discover oceanic elements and the sounds of nature throughout the house.

Day 2:

  • Explore the Sagrada Família, Gaudí's most iconic work, where light, lines, and colors seamlessly integrate with the church's structure.
  • Witness a unique and one-of-a-kind cathedral unlike any other.
  • In the afternoon, head to the Gothic Quarter (El Gòtic), the heart of Barcelona's old town, located east of La Rambla.

Day 4:

  • Take a train to Toledo, known as the "City of Three Cultures," where Christians, Arabs, and Jews coexisted,creating a unique blend of artistic styles.
  • This ancient city is ideal for leisurely walks and boasts one of Europe's richest heritage towns with the most historical monuments.
  • Return to Madrid by train in the evening and transfer to your hotel by car.

Day 5:

  • Embark on a Madrid City Tour, starting at Puerta del Sol, also known as the "Gate of the Sun."
  • Stroll for 10 minutes to reach Plaza Mayor, another famous square in Madrid.
  • Admire this grand plaza surrounded by charming cafes, restaurants, and the iconic statue of King Philip III on horseback.
  • Wander around these squares before reaching the magnificent Royal Palace and soak in the ambiance of Spanish architecture.
  • Fly to Lisbon in the evening and enjoy dinner at your hotel.

 

Day 6:

  • Explore the Belém district, visiting the Jerónimos Monastery, a vast complex with numerous historic sites and exquisite murals.
  • Admire the Discoverers Monument, a landmark you can either photograph or ascend for panoramic views.
  • Discover the Belém Tower, a sentinel standing guard by the sea, guiding ships back home.
  • Savor the famous Portuguese egg tarts at the original bakery, either for takeout or dine-in.
  • Take an optional self-guided tour of Pena National Palace.

 

Day 7:

  • Explore the Pombal Lower Town and Alfama district, experiencing the Santa Justa Lift, ascending to the top to visit the Carmo Convent.
  • Walk to the Bica Lift for photo opportunities or a self-guided ride.
  • Take Tram 28 near Praça do Comércio to reach the Alfama district.
  • Stroll back to the commercial square, exploring the Alfama district along the way.
  • Visit the Porta do Sol Miradouro, Santa Luzia Miradouro, and Lisbon Cathedral en route.

Day 8:

  • Enjoy breakfast, pack your belongings, and prepare to return home.
